Just pulled out the stock plugs with just over 6000 mi. on them. the front cyl. plug was dark brown and the rear was light tan.So front running colder and richer rear running leaner and hotter imo. just wanted to know if anyone runs a colder plug in the rear cyl. I am thinking of using the dcpr9eix in the rear and the dcpr8eix in the front what do you guys think.

I would stick with the same plug front & rear IMO. Ever think about getting a right side air scope? It really helps the rear cyl run cooler. It does on my bike.

just replaced my plugs with nkg dcpr9eix plugs when i took the old ones out which were dcpr8e plugs the front was running normal and the rear ran rich and missed allot. After further inspection i found that the rear spark plug wire had a cut in it and must have been grounding to the frame and not sparking until it got up to a high enough rpm.

what are you guys setting the gap at on these NGK dcpr9eix plugs the stock HD plugs were at .035

They come set from the factory - I check mine at the counter with a gage before paying...if it's not .035" I'd ask for another one. But they've always been right for me. If they're not right and you try to re-gap them, be really careful as almost a touch will snap the small Iridium electrode.

What Stevenc150 said, NGKs are ready to Go. Is bike all stock? Done any mods? Also any Ecm Spy Tuning, done previous? Both my Stock H/D plugs came out at 9,000miles really nice. I was actually pleased even the dealer said when i bought the stock plugs to replace, the usual mileage is around 10,000 on tune up. With both plugs looking the same figure I'll leave it alone.:)
