My headlights went out last night, the indicator says the brights are on but nothing. Flipping the high low switch does nothing

Check fuses first! I had this problem a while back I took the headlight assembly off and the bulb sockets were rusted and corroded. I cleaned te bulb ends and the sockets and the lights worked! Probably just a bad connection!

I'm glad I saw this. Was going to post asking why my low beam was out. Although I guess it could have blown. I'll be checking the fuses tomorrow.

05buelller make sure you check for
Corrosion or rust! If ur bulb is good that is! If Only one bulb is bad it's not likely to be a fuse!

Specifically, the ground wire on the three into four connector at the headlights. Wiggle them and see if the light comes back on.

How do I get this connector apart

They are pretty straight forward, if depressing the tab down doesn't work, try pushing it together press tab then pull apart. I found with connectors of all sorts, pushing together before pulling apart works more often than not.

You headlight problem may be a relay... try switching the three of them around

I wiggled the ground wire on the three to four connector and all that happened was the brights indicator flickered. does that mean that my short is in the connector?

That would be my guess. If you look inside, you might see green corrosion on the ground wire. They are pretty thin.

I ended up using bullet connectors to bypass the connector. You have to go back an inch on the wire to get past the corrosion anyway.

Can I just bypass the ground from the connector or do I have to do all the wires?
