Well guys I am now one step closer to being home, yesterday I left Afghanistan and I am now sitting in Manas (might be spelled wrong) Waiting on the next leg of my flight. I can't give out dates on a public web site(not safe) but I will tell you I next week I will be in the states.:D

Welcome home[up]...thanks for my freedom!!!

likewise to all the diggers with ANZAC day around the corner...CHEERS

@firebolt,
It is Manas. Doesn't the AF have it made in the shade!?!?!?

Congrats on the deployment and hopefully you don't have any issues flying home thanks to the volcano cloud.

well we found out last night while drinking our 2 beers and having a good time that our flight date got pushed back for about 4 or 5 days.

Yes the AF (the ones stationed here) guys have it nice here they get hard buildings for living quarters, apparently they can go off post here (which means they can drink more than 2 beers.)

The local women that I have seen so far do seem pretty decent but nothing to get excited about.

Looking forward to getting home to do some riding(in the bed and the road:D) and wearing normal cloths again, going to eat were ever I want or heck for that matter being able to walk in my kitchen and make what ever I want. But what I miss the most more than all that and I am sure all my brothers in arms can vouch for this is being able to roll out of bed and not have to put on an entire set of cloths just to go take a piss.

its ok I have been stuck in worse places. At least here I can drink a little bit, there's free internet all over the place, free food, hot showers, and free washing machines and washing powder.
