Being originally from Chicago where I learned to ride, really did not know any better about it being too cold and seemed natural to ride on trails even in the winter. I used to live in Glendale heights as a teenager and we used to have hill climbing contests from Glenside Jr. high to the other side of the hidden pond in the winter. it was great fun to see the carnage of the motorcycles, snow mobiles, riding lawnmowers, go Karts, mini bikes, sometimes a small car, suburau, or beetle. One time my Dad drove my Grand Ma out there when she was in her 70's in a 1969 Opel Caddet, she was grinning from ear to ear. Ah the days before video games.....
 
I keep mine out until the first real snow. Then she moves to my walk out basement for the winter where it's warm and cozy.
