Does anyone know where I might be able to find a black center chin piece for my XB12R '04? Or do you think it will hold the dark gray Buell paint I have to do my frame. Don't want to have to paint it every month to remove nicks from front tire road debris.:p

I sprayed mine with VHT (very high temperature) engine paint I used to paint the header wrap with and it has held up very well. I just taped it off and sprayed it with three or four coats an hour or so apart. came out fine.

I just ran out and snapped these for you. Sorry their dirty but it was rainy this am when I was out... also I just realized I am missing a chin fairing screw...

Nice...I ended up buying a can of Krylon Fusion Semi Gloss Black paint which is formulated for plastic, or so the can says..:) Im really glad to hear the paint holds well on this. Thanks for the pictures swatmedic..

I did the same with the high gloss stuff and then putabout 5 coats of crystal clear enamel for anice clear. It has held up real nicely.

I thought about the clear coat, but was worried it would make it too shiny, but your looks good. I will try this out with just the Krylon, but if it doesnt take I'll add a few clear coats....if that doesnt work, THEN I'll buy a black chin piece....:)
