Does chopper and bobber have the some meaning ? To me, I would call that triumph a chopper. I believe that is a tiger, looks like it has a single carb.
When I chopped my Bonneville it sat just as low as that hard tail but I kept my shocks and springs, wish I had a picture of it. I had to cut and weld the frame and extend the swing arm and the front forks, I installed a Harley hard tail step seat on it. I did away with the stock oil tank and battery box and installed an octagon chrome oil tank, I also installed a magneto. I would deliberately park next to the Harleys and roll out a white towel under the bike and then walk away. When I got back all the Harley riders would be still there waiting for oil to drop on the white towel and they would ask me how I was able to get my trumpet to not leak oil.

Technically i think you're right that it is a chopper. From my understanding a bobber has the rear hard tailed and the front end has the factory stock rake. Building one is on my short list The problem is that my short list for motorcycles is rather long. I sold three bikes last year and only bought my Ulysses so i have more room in the shop!

Yeah, I was just checking, I'm old and things do change. I painted my Triumph with a sprayer that came with the old Electrolux vacuum cleaners. I came out remarkably good all things considered. With the exception of the chrome the entire bike was medium deep purple, everyone called it the purple people eater after the song.

I think the older bikes were much easier to work on and to modify and or chop.

NJ, you HAVE to find old pics! That thing sounds sweet!

I had to refrain from throwing money at the guy with the red one, I literally have ZERO room in the extra garage, and the shop is full. So is the trailer.

I keep waiting to come home to a living room full of friends "We need to talk to you about your problem":upset:

Cooter it looks like you and I might have the same affliction. When someone asks how many motorcycles you have and you have to think about it....ya might have a problem!
