The other morning suited up to go for a ride I turned the key from the lock position to on and the bike was dead no gauge lights. My first thought was the night before it was still light out when I got home so maybe I put it in park and now the battery is dead. So I placed the bike on a trickle charger. Now this morning I went out to check and same thing. With the key on I get nothing on the gauges. Could it be a blown fuse?

One thing I did notice was on my ride to school the night before the check engine light came on midway in my ride. But after stopping and restarting it went away which I thought was a little strange.

Well it ended up being the key switch fuse.

But the check engine light is now back on. So I better plug in and see what code is coming up.

Look at all the wire harnesses under the seat and make sure no wires are grounding out due to something rubbing on them ...Mine was the neg. ground end where it connects to the battery, the metal rubbed a harness underneath and it was intermittenly causing the CEL to come on while driving...no codes.

The check engine light was from a improperly installed fan fuse. I had it out when checking the fuses before and had it in the space above the metal contacts. It must have made contact at times but was coming off and causing the CEL.
