I have a habit after EVERY ride no matter how long or short of wiping down my Buell. Once a month I wash it and apply polish to my plastics and rims. I have a California Duster for the rims and one for the rest of the bike and an assortment of microfiber rags. Today while washing it my neighbor said he's never seen anybody clean a bike so much and made me wonder is this a pride thing or do I have OCD ? [confused]

OCD Or Just Like A Clean Bike ?

Man, I haven't washed my bike in maybe 8-9 months. Bugs everywhere. When it rains, it gets rinsed off.

My bike never sees a hose. I usually just spray and wipe mine before and after my rides with quick detail spray. Then when I see dust on it, I'll do the same.
My bikes are all dirty hoes. It's not OCD, you guys are all anal-retentive.
Top 5 reasons you are anal-retentive:
1) You keep large redundant amounts of all your sundries such as laundry detergent so that you never risk running out.

I only wash mine about once every three weeks. I also ride it daily so it sees rain cold sun. I am very OCD about my car though so I know how you feel. When I do wash my Buell though I have a toothbrush that I use on it with a wash mitt and rim cleaner so it does get a very good wash. I also put a coat of wax on it about once every 2 months. I just ride it to much to try and keep it spotless all the time. When I wash it its usually when I am done riding for the day and I use my air compressor to dry it after giving it a towel dry.
I worked very hard for my bike so I too keep it very clean. A good side to cleaning your bike often,is it also allows you to thoroughly inspect evrything really well. I bought some nice stands last year so cleaning the bike now is a breeze [up] BTW I've owned the bike 6 seasons now and have yet to use a water hose on it. Dry wash and wipe everytime.
