OEM Exhaust Part Numbers/Interchangeable?

How interchangeable are the exhaust cans from XB9s and XB12s? I have an 06 Lightning Long and am toying with making my own mods to it and am looking for a used one to work with. Am I limited to only using an exhaust can from the exact same year and model or will different cans from 9s fit the 12 or different years and what part numbers would those be that would fit my 06 12Ss? Any feedback you would have would really be appreciated! Thanks so much!

9's are lighter due to not having the exhaust valve.
12's have exhaust valve. Would lose that putting a 9 on a 12 unless you were modding anyways.

9 can is also lighter due to being single walled where the 12 is double walled. Alot of guys that are modding their pipes prefer the 9 can to save a little weight especially since most mods out there eliminate the valve. If you go the 9 route (and have a 12) you have to bypass the valve servo in ECMSpy (depending on the year of your bike (newer ones can't use ECMSpy))
