I remember reading about that and watching it some time ago. Cool but impractical in my opinion.Tthat being said, impractical things are commonly fun things :p

Now they just need to dress an 1190rx up in camo, throw some knobbies on it, mess with the suspension a bit and pit them up on the trails. That would be entertainment.

Pretty rad! I get the feeling it bottoms out a lot...not something I'd want to hear a $25k bike do! Wouldn't our STT's be more fun off road? I little taller anyway...

I love all the vids floating around of street bikes going off road. I've even heard of an HD bagger with knobbies!

Dual sport riding is all about going into the widest variety of terrain possible on the same bike! :D

I saw that video a while back... it made me want to take my Firebolt down fire roads. Fast forward a week or two, and I'm riding my Bolt with the local ADV Riders in what I was told would be a "asphalt ride" - and we're on trails and fire roads. There was a guy on a concourse who also thought it was going to be an asphalt ride... but I think I was better off with a lighter bike capable of powersliding a bit!

I guess I could put my spare Uly wheels with the TKC 80's on the Firebolt the next time...

Personally, I don't see the point. Other than being able to ride smooth trails/fire roads, its utterly useless. It would suck on the street, and would suck on real trails.
