Its from a new short run car company called Local Motors. You actually build the car yourself with their instructions and guidance. 50k is kinda steep though.

i saw that in my popular science magazine a few months ago. looks like a pretty awesome car. and you only build parts of it on weekends with a buddy. during the week professionals do the stuff that rich guys with suits cant handle. Id want to build the whole thing. In fact I plan on building a whole tube frame buggy in the future.

I was into Jeeps for a long time and have built my 97 TJ up. I have a few buddies that I use to Jeep with that built full on Rock Krawlers from scratch. Tube frames, 2 1/2 ton military axles, V8's, the works. Building them was the funnest part, well that and breaking them.

Cool concept for a car company though. The automotive equivalent of Buell.
