So today I changed the oil and filter on my 2008 xb12ss and I found some strange debris in the oil filter. The particles had a silicone rubber seal quality but I don't know what they could be from and I am worried if this is a warning sign of a potential problem about to happen!
I opened the oil filter to inspect the filter element for more debris and to confirm that the debris I had found wasn't any of the filter element glue.

Does any body know what these particles could be?

Thanks Loose1 lets hope so! No Silverrider no work on the engine for a long time other than spark plugs, filters and oils. I have never removed any of the engine casings only the filler for the trans oil.

This^^^^

They aren't metal, there isn't much, and they aren't big. Just put on a new filter in 1000 miles and cut apart the one you just put on. I wouldn't even bother with an oil change. See whats in there.

Thanks guys, I will change my filter in 1k and see if there are any more. A problem shared is definitely a problem halved ;-)
