Oil Change...Search FAIL by me

i have searched high and low, can someone please help me locate a post that had links to several DIY/maint. mods???

looking for a DIY oil change, and have searched countless pages for 20 min. I know I'm not terribly retarded, but I can't find a step by step

oops idiot, forgot about the manual.

i dont have a stand (and a broken leg) so im just leaning the bike up to drain all oil, etc can someone confirm approx. amount of trnas oil in primary is 1 pt on a 2003 xb9s??

I have a 03 xb9s and 1 qt is what I put in trans.

HELP. where do i add oil into the primary?? thru the inspection cover???

yep just take the cover off put in a funnel and put in the new oil. Make sure the bike is up straight when draining. I use a piece of 2x4. Be careful though cause the wrong bump will knock it over. I only use the block while draining, everything else on the stand.

Use aluminum foil to protect your exhaust!! Otherwise the oil just drains all over it...Found this out the hard way the 1st time[mad]

got it all done, used tin foil etc and put in 2.5 qts total in the swingarm and 1 qt in the primary. started her up and it PURRRED like a kitten. amazing difference.

put mobil1 20-50 in both holes...cannot wait to take it out. THANKS for all the help +1 rep for all..

I use a 2 litre plastic bottle wrapped in tinfoil with the end cut at 45 degrees so it seats under the drain hole resting on the exhaust with the other end in the drain pan, works cherry for me..

dave, got it, and for some gawd awful reason i forgot about those links. got the fluids changed and she purr's like a kitten now.
