hey guys, I'm a brand new rider and I love the blast!! I don't have a manual for my 2003 though and I need to change the oil. I am NOT mechanically savy but I found where the filter goes. Where is the drain plug? Is it on the left hand side of the bike right above the exhaust facing straight down? I wanted to make sure before I did anything. Any help would be great or if someone could but a downloadable manual up that would be even better. Thanks guys! :)

Left side of rear tire. Do NOT over tighten the plug.[up]

When I said rear tire I meant in the swing arm.look at the right side of the screen there is a DIY video showing you everything.

Sorry they are both from badweatherbikers because there isnt a lot of Blast stuff on here.

DIY Trans fluid drain Link

How to

Drain plugs are the two tubes near the rear left footpeg, the filler is on the frame by the steering neck

One is the oil tank drain and the other drains the crankcase breather system. You'll want to pull the plugs from both hoses. Naturally one will gush oil out and the other typically has a teaspoon or 3 of oily water.

so the drain plug isn't next to the trans fluid plug? I'm a little bit confused. I tried to take what I thought was the engine oil drain plug out but the plus is too long and the stock muffler is in the way... someone please tell me I'm stupid and have the wrong plug because I don't want to take my muffler all the way off... The plug I'm talking about is in front of the trans fluid plug.

that's ok I appreciate the attempt to help. I unscrewed the bolt that is on the crankcase towards the front almost all the way but it didn't come out. Pretty sure that isn't the right plug...did I screw anything up when I did that? I put it back the way I found it lol.

You can download an online version of your service manual from Buellmods.com. Just sign up, then go to the downloads section and select manuals. manuals are all listed under specific years.

that is the tensioner bolt . you will have to perform the primary adjustment so you dont have the box of rocks sound and bad shifting.

the second boolt that is flush down there is to drain the trans fluid.

to drain the engine oil on the left arm of the rear arms is 2 rubber hoses.

remove the clamp holding them to the bike - then loosen both hose clamps and pull the plastic plugs and let every thing drain out.

1 hose is from the breather egr (top of motor) and crapy white oil / water mix (whiteish) will come out only a few table spoons full - its normal.the second hose will drain the oil tank - have the filler plug/ dipstick out to aid draining.

Glad I checked on here. We can't find the manual, Hubby couldn't figure out how to change the oil and was ready to take out the wrong plug. Now that I know how, I can probably do it myself. How often should I change it?

^I do my oil and trans fluid roughly every 3,000 miles. I think the manual says you can go longer, but it's cheap insurance IMO. These engines run very hot and it breaks the oil down quicker than normal.
