I did an oil change on my 1125r with a new filter as well. And I used 2.7qts then the rest so a total of 3 quarts. I still can't see any oil on the dip stick at all. I've tried the hot check and cold checks. Kept the bike up and all that stuff didn't let it lean. Tried both cold and hot still can't seem to get a reading. No leaks anywhere! I'm concerned they I'll hurt my bike. No lights on dash are on and bike sounds alright?!!?

I don't have a 1125 but with an xb i believe your supposed to check it on the side stand. I know when mine is cost it will read very low...but after about a 10-15 minute ride its right where it needs to be.

I used 4 qrt make sure you have enough! I actually added 3.5 and then little by little until full

WHATTT!!!!! The manual calls for 2.7 quarts right? And you needed 3+? Somethings rotten in denmark here.

Yea I wouldn't start the bike until you get it figured out. You can do more damage with an overfilled reservoir than an underfilled. 4 qts is WAY too much. What does the book say for checking your oil?

DO NOT put 4qts in the bike!! 2.7 with a filter change is just right. Ride the bike for 10-20 minutes, then do the hot check. you should be fine.

My buddy just had the same problem on his 09 CR. Drove it 30 mi and the oil was barley on the stick no matter if it was on the stand or held straight. Called the dealer and they said keep adding till full. Ended up being about 4 quarts. Bike has a couple hundred miles on it since with no problems.

So confused still :s been riding about 2oo miles since and no noticeable problems but still no marking on stick? And no leaks anywhere. Should I just leave it alone? I mean I know for a fact that there is 3 quarts in the bike

I did as per manual (2.7qts)
then checked and added till at the full mark (3qts)
thats how ive always done it and im on my 5th change

A round 3 quarts (liters).I put a little bit more in and check at cold and at hot.You should see oil on the dipstick when cold and in between the full and overfill mark when hot. When hot just under the overfull fill mark and I'm happy!
