Oil consumption?

Is it normal to go thru a quart of oil in the first 800 miles of a new 08 XB12Ss?

I dunno, but I didn't go through that much on my 07 XB9SX

It most certainly is. You should just about go through a quart when you break the bike in. After that you should be good to go and not use up any oil.

Mine used about .25-.05 qt. during breakin and hasn't used any since.
