I am running the K&N Oil Filters. No problems and I am pretty sure they are cheaper than the Buell / Rotax OEM filters.

I have the K&N in mine, sucks that you have to get the O-ring from H-D!

O rings are 60mm x 2.5mm
Ally crush washer is 18mm x 24mm x 1.5mm
Copper crush washer is 12mm x 18mm x 1.5mm

tater, they are referring to the large o-ring around the metal cover for the filter. It is recommended to replace when replacing the filter. I got a bag of 50 of them from McMaster-Carr for a few bucks. Screw HD!

I also get my filters from:

Four for a bit more than the price of one from HD plus shipping. The HiFlo Filtro HF564, identical to stock, $6.44 each.

I am intrigued by this filter too:

The one from the RSV Mille, and Tuono (2158) will fit the 1125's as they use the same paper filter.

I have heard that other metal filters would let larger particles through than paper, but apparently these tested to stop smaller particles than every paper filter they were tested against and still flows more oil and dissipates more heat. They claim that you "may" see a horsepower increase with this filter.
