Hey guys,

I got so excited about all the little parts that I've ordered and installed on my bike, that I forgot to address something that I should've asked about a week ago.

Everytime I turn on my bike, the oil indicator comes on. Once I start riding, it goes off. After riding for 30 minutes, it'll come on again. Got my oil changed done 2 weeks ago and have only put in 300k since I picked up the bike. Also, I've had to fill up 3 times already.

Should the light go on when I turn on the bike? Why does it go on after 30 minutes of riding? How much km should I be getting for a full tank of gas??? I don't ride the bike hard. But I don't cruise with it either.

Any input please and thank you.

I'm a little confused [confused] here. Fill what up exactly, oil or gas?

The oil turning on when you turn the key is normal, but not when you start the bike.

Why does it go on after 30 minutes of riding?

This is also not normal/good. Your bike is getting a read that it has no oil. Sounds like you either have a leak or the sensor may be faulty.

How much km should I be getting for a full tank of gas???

I get roughly around 130-140 MPG

No signs of any leaks! That's for sure! Do I still need to top up the oil?

In my calculation, I'm getting about 150 KM per fill up. You're getting 130-140 MPG? That's about 90 KM more than what I'm getting. How is this possible?

No, having the race kit will not make burn more fuel. I too have the race kit and I get about 130 mpg also. I am almost always above 4500 rpms also.

not to be rude but i find it hard to believe that anyone gets 130-150 M.P.G.(miles per gallon) you might gets 130-150 M.P.F.(miles per fill-up) Rida if your having to add oil after every ride and the bike doesn't leak then you might be burning oil. What does the exhaust look like when you first start the bike? Does it smoke? Is it white smoke? you could have bad valve seats, a burnt valve. keep us posted.

correction, meant 130-140 miles per fill up (from full to bone dry) thanks for pointing that out 1stxb9r

I don't see any white smoke coming from the exhaust. I will keep a closer look and pay more attetion to any leaks and/or smoke. I'll keep you guys posted!

This being my first bike, I'm still learning how to maintain it. I've never topped off the oil because I never thought I needed to. I've had the bike for 3 weeks now. So I'm basically only averaging 100k/week. Do I still need to top off the oil? Is there a way to check?

I haven't changed the oil in my bike yet (undertaking it this weekend), but RIDA you shouldn't have to put oil in after every ride. Its same as an engine in a car, watch for smoke!!![mad] what other mods besides ecm, and exhaust. The breather reroute could be jacked? are you getting any oil in the airbox?

haven't checked my airbox. planning on doing the breather re-route mod soon. just gotta get the parts.

Get ECMspy and a cable then you can look at what trouble codes your bike is thowing.

If you are sticking the fuel nozzle al the way into the tank, and waiting for the auto shut off sensor on the hose, you could be missing out on the last few inches of fuel. That makes a difference when you consider the small size of a bike tank. Make sure you hold the hose so only the tip is in the tank. Just a thought. Only thing i can think of. I get about 125-135 miles per fill not counting reserve.
