K well long story is that I had my exhaust bolt break. so I took it into get serviced by the shop where I bought my bike. A 07 xb9r. They had to take everything apart to get it out and apparently the head basket was blown. Took a month and a half to get fixed. I take my bike home notice a small leak. Called them and told them it was leaking. Another 2 weeks in service. Get bike again still same leak. Eventually it gets to where I swore I would never take it back to there. That was 2 years ago. Hadn't rode much since. Mostly because or insane hours at work and can't really fit all my work tools on my bike. So recently took it in to get tires and replace dead battery. And my small leak that only leaks a few drops after riding now leaks quiet a bit and while riding. So I'm looking for a top end gasket kit for my bike. I called revperf.com the guy said 208 for it I think he was wrong. But need to find a kit fast. I need to get my riding fix in before I go through withdrawals.

I just did the rocker box gaskets on my 2007 xb9r,it had a leak under the rocker covers,I got the top end gasket kit from my Harley dealer for $67.00,It sounds like you got quoted a price for the entire gasket kit which includes everything for the cylinders, but it sounds like all you need are the rocker box gaskets,Also check ASB they have a decent price.

Called one of the Harley dealers out here and they said they don't have anything for buells. And in the manual it says I have to take off the heads to get to the push rod tubes. I don't really know never taken my motor apart. Still a noob. I'm used to tearing apart 4x4s, not a v-twin.

Call and talk to ASB. They are great to deal with, and offer the Cometic .030 Head gasket kit. Great improvement! A quick tip, make $%&#$ sure you get the pushrod cover o-rings seated correctly, or you haven't seen a leak yet. It spews pretty good if they are not 100% seated. I learnes from experience and having to tear it down 3 times to get it right. [mad]

You didn't say what model you had, but Surdyke.com has allot of parts. I just ordered a Gasket Kit, complete engine for my XB12R - $121.02

I'm watching this thread because my rocker box is leaking on the rear cyl. and I think it just cost me a fan.

Can't wait to see your pics Vicious.

Does anybody have a part number for those o rings? I've gotten the runaround trying to get some new ones.

I can order these separate of the gasket kit yes?

Thx

Levi

buy a top end kit that comes with them. you are going to need more than the o-rings. the head has to come off. this means head gasket and base gasket.

there is a link to the cometic kit, it has those o-rings in the kit.

bought a top end kit from LSHD1.com for $78 recently, got an email from them stating HD had taken a longer holiday vacation and parts were back ordered, got the kit in after a few days from recieving the email.
