Is it safe to assume that oil light on but good crank oil level means primary oil level low?

Damn. That could mean the oil pump.
Came on after I shut down when I got to work. Short ride, only 7 miles.

Luckily I'm still under warranty. So free service pick up still applies too.
The dealer is coming to pick up the bike.
Hopefully it is just a tripped oil pressure switch.

I could just have them do the 10K service while it is in there. Then I'll be ready to put it back up for sale.

Hey wait the oil light came on after you had stopped the engine? (if it did thats perfectly normal), when the oil light comes on whilst the engine is running is when you have a problem!

Just realized I had a Homer moment.
I must be getting old because I couldn't remember if that was normal.
Started it up and the light went out DOH! [mad]:D;)

Boy do I feel stupid. I've put almost 10K miles on this and I choose today to had a brain fart?

Still need to schedule the 10K service though.

Even though it wasnt the problem, the plug can vibrate off or loosen up and lose electrical contact within the plug and set the light off.

So far, only one time that I thought I had a problem I actually did. And that was the primary tension bolt backing out on me.
Two or three others were Homer moments. Loose battery cable was one.
My XB has been awesome. Very reliable. And loads of fun to ride.
I will miss it when I sell it.:(

Fishgutz,Hope you get a good price for the bike. But Yet still are you getting another type of bike? Couple of my buddies are getting Jap., bikes and getting rid of their Buells. Not me at this time, I've had plenty of Jappers & IN a way They all share some of the same yet cool/traits. At Least The Buells Are in a different class. I realize the foreigns are faster. Thats gotten me in trouble many Moons ago. I still own a CBR-1000 Plenty of power And beautiful too! Good Luck, Ride safe. [cool]

@jim, when I buy another bike it will be a fat cruiser with a fat customizable seat. Degenerative osteoarthritis in my tail bone is the reason I am selling. I can not ride more than 45 minutes without pain. And that is not fun. I also want to get something my wife will ride with me.
I love my Buell. I would never sell it to get a rice rocket. I don't need a bike that can do 180MPH. I question the sanity of those who think they do but never go to track days. Of course that means questioning the sanity of people in my own family.:D
