the Owner's manual says to use H-D oil. Is that for real or just to support their sales and other brands can be used with equal results? I am an Amsoil fan personally - can I use it in Ulysses? Thanks!

other brands can be used with better results.i use mobil1 syn 20/50 in both holes.

Just did the thousand mile service on my Uly and my son's 12SS with 20W50 amsoil in both holes works great. Also got a good deal with the purchase of Amsoil's preferred customer plan. Check their web site for more info.

Amsoil may be the best. There was an amsoil test that indicated Mobil 1 v-twin was 2nd best and that royal purple max cycle was crap. Due to shipping costs and the fact that it was Amsoil saying mobil 1 was 2nd best(imagine that, they said amsoil was best), I went with mobil 1, which can be purchased at the local autozone.
