I don't know about his model, but didn't they stop putting them on after certain years? My 08 has no sensor, wires, plug or anything else going to the kickstand. it will start and run with it up or down (not that you'd want to forget about it and take off, but it will) unlike every other Jap bike i've owned that had a kill sensor wired to the side stand.

Resolution.

Well here's the final.
There were micro breaks in the harness for the tps, the tps wires themselves comming from the sensor, and the main wiring harness that connects everything was being pushed against one of the head bolts by the crank case breather re-route. It put just enough pressure on it along with heat and vibration to open the insulation and ground out on the head bolt. This was between the frame and the head and was very difficult to find and of course was intermitant and worse when hot. Every time the airbox was removed all the pressure came off and the bike ran fine. Very hard to diagnose.
Now everything is re-routed shrink wrapped and covered in plastic conduit.
Back on the road after almost 3 weeks. That's almost 1/4 of the riding season in my neck of the woods.

Put my pazzo levers on and had a great afternoon of riding.

I have had a bunch of remaps done over the year.
When i first got my bike it had the stock ECM then got the race chip then cloned the race to the stock chip and then did all the remaps to the clone.
Either way the bike has always started with the stand down regardless of which map.
This time of year in Vegas the temps are now 105 so it starts a little rough on the second start if still warm sometimes.

Glad it's resolved finally. Too bad it took so long. But being a CNC machine tech I can sympathize with the Buell tech, intermittant probs can be a real mother to track down.

I've got to hand it to the tech Chris at WP HD in EP, MN (enough initals for ya?). Chris took the time to bring me back to the bench twice, to make sure I understood the process he was going through to try and diagnose the problem, got me involved, and walked me through the entire process and resoloution. I like knowing what was wrong and how it was fixed so I really appreciate this. A very frustrating experience for both of us but it got resolved.

The best part is, I love this bike. I've owend alot of motorcycles over the years but this was the first one that I thew a leg over and thought YEAH this is what I'm looking for. At 5'5 the scg fits me perfectly. Small light package with a big torquey motor. Gotta go for a ride now.
