First, a bit of back-story for those of you who may not know from my posts here.
On the 1st of July this year I was being an impatient idiot on a motorcycle that is a bit too powerful for any sane person riding on any public road. Big mistake. I came to a stop sign on a crosswalk full of small loose gravel with a long line of cars on their way to me, and I didn't want to wait. That was the moment she taught me about respect and patience all in one 10 second lesson.
This was the outcome:
This was the result:
I was in a wheelchair for 2 months because I also got a screw in the Scaphoid which I cracked clean in half, couldn't use crutches because of that. Then, a boot for about another month. Now it is just physical therapy for a while.
However, it just so happened that on friday I was feeling great and just couldn't take it anymore, so I went out and bought a cheap-o helmet to replace my crashed one. Getting back on for the first time in months was such an overwhelming feeling of relief, like I was finally alive again after what felt like a year or so of vegetation. I'll admit I was extra scrutinizing of road conditions, and careful to always shift smoothly and roll on smoothly. I definitely put much more though into my riding than I ever have before.
The very next day I was at it again, riding from about 8am until 9pm.
This was the result:
It's good to be back.
