or you can grab a Cardo which works the same, only if you smash your helmet (God forbid) you don't have to buy a whole new system.

I have about 5 helmets... have wanted one of these for a while but cannot justify getting another helmet.

I have seen these and considered it before I bought my Shoei but was looking for as light a weight helmet as possible. What's the sound quality like? Is it a pretty quiet helmet?

+1 on the Cardo, All of my friends have them. It's nice being able to talk to each other when riding. Plus I can put the cardo on whatever helmet I want.

Sayjack, which cardo do you have?

The Cardo G4 is coming out soon! I'll be buying it for sure.

These helmets have been out for some time now. They are not selling well.
i assume people would rather buy a higher quality helmet and add a communication device like chatterbox or scala?

All of my friends seem to be using scala so the G4 may be my next purchas.

+1 what Slomo said.

I buy a helmet based on how well it performs at the very critical task of keeping the soft gooey stuff inside my skull, and how comfortable it is wearing it until that event occurs. There is nothing electronic that you can add to a helmet that will improve how a helmet performs these critical tasks. You can always add the Scala or other BT comm devices to just about any helmet you buy.
That's a good looking helmet and the BT integrated with it is nice... but in the end, if it don't protect yer noggin, it will be the end of you..

Yeah these have been out for a while now. I have been thinking about getting one for those longer rides and from what I have read in reviews it seems pretty 50/50. i have heard its quit and mp3 works great and also that mp3 sounds like AM radio, static and distant, one review said you had to sync it to your ipod/ phone or whatever every time you put it back on. not sure about that though. I would love to hear how it sounds helmet to helmet

Lightningbolt, the Cardo Q2 Multiset and G4 do everything that you mentioned. I have the Q2 and I use it with my iPhone 3Gs. I can hit the button on the cardo and say "play music by the transplants" and it will. When a call comes through, it pauses the music and switches to the call seamlessly. It also has a built in FM tuner, and 1/4 mile communication with other cardos.

hey dave does it sound loud. I have the q2 as well but Im running a old iphone on it (edge) and the mp3 sounds very low I cant even hear it when I go faster than 40mph. I even have a small amp that plugs in between the head set and iphone...still to quiet :( I wonder if yours is any better.

joser, I keep the volume at about 75%, so yeah yeah it's plenty loud. One thing I did add to the helmet was a Noj wind reducer. It helped a bit.
