If you need to use a torque wrench on a drain plug... I'm guessing you should probably pay someone to do your services for you. I fixed cars (all kinds of cars) professionally for 12 years and never, ever saw someone put a torque wrench on a drain plug.

I just wanted to do it right. Always hearing how one needs to "torque this" - "torque that" and being a vibey bike I followed the instructions. Anyway, I'm hoping it will be fixed tomorrow.

Don't be embarrassed dude, I did this a few week ago.  I don't think the problem was your torque wrench, but the actual torque specs for those bolts from the factory.  I believe they are listed at 26-29 ft lbs which is WAAAY too much.  All they need is a snug and a little tighten. 

Just quoting this to make sure you saw it. Many people have had this problem. Dont use the torque value for the drain plug.

When I was growing up and would ask my dad how tight a nut or bolt should be he'd tell me "break it, then back off a 1/4 turn".
