I searched the forum and the internet... I'm looking for a 2007 Lightning Owner's Manual. The book that goes under the seat, not the Service Manual, the Owners Manual. Anyone know where to get a PDF version or a hard copy for cheap? Best I found was $33.

dang it, went straight to error page...I'll keep looking

33 bucks is a steal compared to what I found on ebay 60 to over 200 bucks....buellmods.com does not have it listed either, only the service manual

Yes sir! I really wish H-D would have left a static version of the Buell website online.

Ready, thanks! Is there an option that I'm missing to download the whole thing or is it piecemeal only?

No download option that I know of. This is the same format that Buell provided on their website, minus a few photo illustrations that didn't get picked up by archive.org

So... After pursuing both the '07 Lightning owners manual and the service manual, I don't see mention of the STT model anywhere, while all the other models are called specifically. Did the STT have a separate manual?

Alright... for the STT owners out there. Here is what I've discovered: the 2007 manual did not initially include the STT model. There was a manual revision about halfway through the model year signified by a "YA" at the end of the manual part number. The "YA" indicates the inclusion of the STT model, which, does have a different suspension among other details when compared to the other Lightnings.

2007 Lighting Manual w/ STT model: 99474-07YA

$16 + shipping from New Castle HD.

Hi ReadyXB, Thanks for the links, How did you get access to the archive?

I am trying to access the other sections for the '10 models. I'm assuming the 2009 basically applies, but I'm looking into any uniqueness.

Start here:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.buell.com/om/*

You can search <ctrl+f> on each page for the text "10Y" or "09Y". That is basically everything that has been archived. You can probably ignore any page archives taken after 2011 as they will likely just be redirects to the "THE JOURNEY ENDS HERE" notice or "page not found".

What and when the archive web crawler catalogs a page can be somewhat hit or miss. Unfortunately, if a certain page or website is missing after having checked all archive dates for a parent path, then it's probably gone. I don't know all the differences (if any) to answer your question, so happy hunting!

I ended up saying screw it and just bought a manual from New Castle HD for $16 + shipping. It's always easier to have paper in hand when I'm in my garage! Also got a parts catalog from ebay and a service manual from Surdyke... something came over me and I splurged.

...I guess that "something" was me wanting to know what the heck I was doing..
