Hi, I am planning for a trip in the coming months from Saint Louis to San Francisco. The total mileage round trip is around 4000 miles. I am riding on a new 2009 Buell XB9SX. I've put 1400 miles on the bike in the last month and have not had a single problem with it. As of right now I plan on packing a portable air compressor, flat fix kit, extra set of spark plugs, extra set of ignition (spark plug) wires, extra fuses, extra relay, spare light bulb (1 turn, 1 headlight, 1 brakelight). Along with the necessary tools to do a fair amount of roadside repairing.

I figured this would be a good start. However, do you guys have any experience on other things that could be useful on a long road trip like this? Or things particular to Buells that can possibly be issues, need adjustment or may break?

Also what kind of mechanical problems have people had as the mileage starts to build? Any input would be appreciated.

The only other things I've thought about are maybe clutch and throttle cables, drive belt, ignition coil, rectifier, and stator. However since this is a new bike I'm not really worried about them (knock on wood).

Thanks in advance
