Painting rear XB suspension spring

Hi,

Anyone tried to paint the rear suspension spring into the same colour of the bike?

I do not like the yellow colour on a cherry-bomb bike.

Would it require special preparations, tools, paint. checks etc.

Any info welcome.

you're gonna want to take it off the bike to do a good job. since you are that far you might as well buy a diff spring

I do not wish to change the character of the suspension. So would you know a place where they sell them in different colours?

I would like it to be seen. It expresses the 'open" character of the bike. And I would also like it to be close to the rims colours.

Take it off and have it powder coated. Paint in time will crack or peel.

Thanks. That was what i was afraid for.

But is it difficult to remove the spring? Any things to look for? Or any special tools?

As they are usually sold as a unit with the shock absorber. And I would not like to interfere with the characteristics.
