The dude's a douche bag. And to think I almost felt bad for a second. Glad you all are more asshole than I am and kept it all straight :)

I'm not him, at least not that I know of. (no freckles on my arm)

I was just passing on how my sale went, and since I had the pics ready:

Grips were perfect and the tube was as well. the PO of my bike layed it over hard to the right and wasted the tube. :(

Here's one of my hand, from tonight as a matter of fact, I was changing manifold gaskets on my old Dodge. [cool] (pic was ready once again, but it was for another forum I'm on.)

I'll start a thread on my bike tomorrow I guess, though it's nothing special. I'm currently getting the bone from a tire guy who's had my wheels for 2 weeks getting tires put on them...

Oh, you're preaching to the choir.

At first this was a slight case of mild annoyance. It has since blossomed into a seething hatred that I'm not sure any amount of time will quench.

I called him today, and the exact quote I got was "Yeah, I got them in today but I've been busy. I'm going to the fair tonight so I'll get them mounted up tomorrow." I made that phone call at 4:15 today, and if he didn't have extremely essential equipment to my bike's operation I would have freaking lost it.

I'm just going to pay my bill with a smile, never go back, and shit all over his name anytime anyone asks me about a tire guy. [mad]

^ Dammit man, I might be demanding a bit of a discount for that shit! You must be in a small town with no other options?

Yeah. =/

I spent a week trying to get a local Harley guy to hook me up, but he wanted nothing to do with me. I don't even think he looked into my tires. (Michelin Pilot Power 2ct's, as suggested here and everywhere else.)

This guy is also a Harley guy, but I was hoping to spend some $$ with a local business. I'm honestly not too sure where to turn to after this set, but you can bet I'll be ordering them waaaaaaay before I need them.
:D

Yeah, the hand pic. :D

Everyone on my truck's forum was complaining that I hadn't updated in a while because I had gotten this bike. I told them I could completely disassemble the engine on my Buell and not get my hands that dirty. :p

The Dodge has twin turbos on it so it all had to come off to do manifold gaskets...

they really aren't hard to change, and if you take them to any independent shop that deals with tubeless tires they should be good to go.

I hear you on supporting a local shop as I feel that's important, but that local shop should recognize that and reciprocate through service. Motorcycle shops have it hard enough, especially in this economy, you'd think they'd be more inclined to roll the red carpet out. Or at least put your tires on! Good luck!

The tire guy was babbling to me about these Buell rims. He said they didn't have the groove in the center that the bead slides down into to allow the other side to get over the wheel. Any truth to that?

I've got everything I need to change tires in the shop, I just didn't want to screw something up on my first bike, right in the middle of summer. At this point I may as well have tried, but hindsight is 20/20...

if he's talking about getting the tire on, just use some soap and push. they slide on pretty damn easy.

Thanks, snrus. :D

I'm on most of the diesel forums one way or another, but my main haunt is 1stgen.org. Same username there, and a 62 page thread full of BS (literally) to prove I'm not from San Diego. ;)

Compound chargers on a first gen?!?!?!?! I actually got on the cummins forum today for the first time since 09. Forgot how well organized it is over there. You on there or compD?

I Got my front on no problem, but the rear was impossible. I chewed my rims up a little before I said screw it and took it up to the shop and had it done. Side wall on the rear is just too damn short and thick. I couldn't stretch it.

really? I thought the rear was a lot easier than the front. as long as I got enough soap on it I just had to put some weight on it.

Much appreciated, guys. [cool]

I should warn you that if I start a thread about my bike I will take it just as wildly off track as I'm taking this one. I don't like starting new threads so I just keep my main one going. That won't be a bad thing here, would it?
