I always wondered... can the leaving the passenger foot rests on your bike protect from damage in the event of a crash?

I guess maybe it depends on the severity of the crash. A low side at low speed, maybe it'll save some scratching. A rolling crash they might actually make it worse?

I generally assume they would, so I leave them on. Never really seen any proof either way. I have a 2nd bike that I prefer for 2upping.

it depends on the severity of the crash.

This can't be stressed enough. I have seen them help though...

Our axle and case sliders do a good job on the lower parts of the bike and in many cases (not all of course) keep the seat rails from hitting the pavement.
