I'm sure everyone has heard that Paul Walker our Fast and the Furious star has lost his life at age 40 in a car accident. He left behind a 15 yr old daughter, who had just moved to CA to be closer to her father. From what I have gathered they were at a charity event for a typhoon, and decided to take the Porsche Carrera GT for a spin. His friend was driving lost control of the car, hit a pole and a tree. The car was completely engulfed in flames when EMT and Fire got there to confirm that both were dead. Rest in peace Paul Walker. None of us knew you personally but we felt like we did because we connected with you through your movies. To every gear head motorcycle or car this is a loss![sad]

I was just in a crash on veterans day in this truck. I feel more fortunate than ever now to be able to go home and kiss my wife, 6yr old daughter, and 3 month old son!

I still cant believe it. I am just at a loss really. Its to bad he wasnt driving.

I had a admiration for him on a few different levels. As an owner of a e36 m3, I have heard of his collection. I was I guess relieved that a person of his integrity had those very rare LTW e36 m3's and so I knew they were in good hands. But now...who knows.

And as an actor, he wasnt the most talented, but he had passion, and alot of heart, and that was easy for him to portray on screen. It came so easy to him because it was him.

interesting that its the simple mistakes that can cost so dear....something as simple as getting in the wrong side of the car.

Just have to make sure to let me wife know I love her every day. Cause its just the blink of an eye friends.

stay safe

Well the guy driving knew how to drive, but speeding like they were changes everything. RIP

I have no idea what happened but first guess was they weren't driving safely. I thought the movies sucked but it's sad he died and his family is left to grieve. At the same time it's ironic how he died(assuming they were driving crazy).

RIP.

I'm frankly surprised that two professional drivers had the poor judgement to be driving at the kind of speed it takes to destroy a car like that, on public roads. It's even being reported that they were actually street racing when the accident happened.

Sad? Yes. But nonetheless, perfectly preventable & foreseeable.

Seriously, I don't know, but if speed wasn't a factor in that I would never drive that car!

Wouldn't surprise me if there was a malfunction with the throttle. It may have been a Porsche but they aren't above having issues.

Now they are saying that the reason they took the car for a spin in the first place was to work out some issues it had! They also report that the burnout marks and figure 8's were not from the Porsche the marks were to narrow and the porshe has big shoes!

the porshe has big shoes!
Yup, just an inch or two narrower than an F150 pick-up if you can believe it! My friend has a 911 turbo; he spends a lot of time circling parking lots just trying to find a stall it'll fit in!

Turns out they weren't speeding or racing. It looks bad but that is a carbon fiber chassis that is designed to split apart.
The most recent reports I read are that racing had been ruled out, but not necessarily speed. My common sense (albeit limited sometimes) tells me that although the GT is indeed a race-focussed car with a carbon chassis, it’s still street-legal which means it can’t possibly be designed to disintegrate like that at street-legal speeds. [confused]

100 mph in a 45,i feel bad for his family but you play you pay.

Toxicology reports are expected in six to eight weeks.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators are still trying to determine the cause of Saturday's crash, which claimed the life of the "Fast & Furious" star and his friend. They have said speed was a factor.

Sheriff's detective Jeff Maag told People magazine the driver "was doing well over 45 [mph] – [it's] fair to say at least twice that."

No Way they were doing less then 90-100mph.

I have survived 30mph head to head collision last year and our vehicles were far from the damage you can see on pictures and the other driver was also doing 30mph - so they say.

They're both dead, I don't know why media like to talk about these, speculate bla bla bla ... Let them chill now. They are dead - leave them in peace...

I wonder why no one cries after the driver - they were both human, both had families and both lost lives - lost is equal ... Cry after both or don't at all.

What are you so confused about? That was the latest information at the time I posted it. I even included a link of where I read it. [confused] Im not surprised to hear more details come out as time passes, thats what always happens with these type of stories.
