Photo editor program?

i used to dabble with adobe photoshop pro. is that still a good program line? is there another one that is prefered? i'm not trying to make aliving out of photo editing but i'd like to play around with some a bit. it's been years and i'm quiet a ways out of the loop.

If you want something that is decent, and 100% free (legally) look into "The GIMP" (It's The GNU Imagine Manipulation Program)

It will do quite a bit of stuff. I am by no means a graphic artist so I have no idea if its "good" or not, but so far it has done what i've needed it to do.

Photoshop is still one of the leaders. I think they're up to Creative Suite 3 or 4 now. But not cheap.

thanks! we're probably int he same league then. i just want something i can use to test colors schemes out on. simple color fills and what not.

If you just need to do some basic editing you could also try one of the many online editors, such as

If it were a small enough program to email, I would but it's a couple hundred megs. Sorry.
