I know this has been covered i read through alot of threads, but is there a simple was to mount my plate under my chopped tail? Lightning xb12scg. I chopped the tail and im thinking about coming up with some sort of bracket to hold the plate..

what did you guys do?

I didn't chop mine. I got Rizoma one from the member at great price but had the same problem as you have. First I did this:

But I got pulled over by suburban cop (Norridge), he took my license away and I had to go to court fight it. And I won. But I didn't want to deal with BS like this anymore so I figured I change it so it looks more stock.

Buddy of mine gave me bracket he didn't use on his bike (Suzuki M109R) which bolted right on. I got license plate frame with LEDs from Ebay and put it on. Took it for a ride and hit the bump - result: trashed license frame. I chopped it up and put it back together again. Had to bend the license plate a bit upwards to prevent it from hitting the tire.

Good luck!

I've usually just put plates at the angle everyone else did, but with how low the SCG tail is I didn't want to deal with it hitting my plate so I mounted it the opposite way...

Perfectly visible and I don't have to worry about the tire hitting it.

they all look great guys thanks, I took a look at everything you guys did and I came up with me own. Spent about 3 hours in the shop cutting, drilling, and painting. Ended up chopping a tail drilled holes for the turn signals, and built a bracket for the plate. Instead of adding led lights for the plate i just used a dremmel and cut out the tail part under the brake light where it is clear. the tail light is my plate light. Ill be more then happy to post pics if anyone is interested.

Thanks guys, helped alot.

haha alright here are a couple i took while i assembled it. Ill get more in the light tomorrow.

i used a dremmel tool to cut this section out for the plate light. and drilled holes in the side for the turn signals.
