Please help!

Hey guys sitting in the garage trying to fix the shift both that broke. It's the bolt that goes through your shift lever into the primary cover. My problem is can I tap the screw out from the outside or does that bolt go through the whole primary cover?? Anyone have a pic of the inside of a primary cover? I cannot find one anywhere in my manual. Of the inside of the cover

Does it go through the whole cover or does it only screw into the outside part then?

It only goes into the outside of the cover. It doesn't go through.
