I made these for the tail out of some steel I had laying around. I intend to cover them with some shaped alloy sheet or get a mate to make some fibreglass covers.

Why do you have 3 holes instead of 2? And also how many mm's are the holes apart from one another?

This is just a prototype, the bracket I had laying around already had the 3 holes in.Its probably a bit too high as well, but as this is not the finished product I can still work on this. Does anybody have an original to let me know the correct distance between holes? I put these photos up to show just how easy these are to make.If you look closely enough I think you will find a lot of parts are achievable at home in the garage with a bit of time and effort.I live in the UK where Trojan Horse are based but I will not pay the silly prices they charge if I can make the item for myself or source someone who will.

Ok so here is what i came up with over the weekend. I used the PM lift photos as a model but in the end mine will be different.
I made the piece out of wood, and when I finally get the shape down I will have it cast in alumium.
let me know what you guys think so far.

Obviously I'm not finished yet, there are some gaps that neede to be tightened up still, but i think you guys get the general idea.

Fixes in place with a bolt from the inside of the frame into the spacer.

This one started out as 7/8 in the rear and 5/8-1/2 up front..but as I started to fit it in place id say I took about an 1/8 off all around.

The dimensions for this thing are tricky tricky..what id really like to is get some measureemnts from someone who already has the lift though.

If between the frame and rear struts bolted and highlights the The rear by approximately 80mm, so as with most other Hecklifter kits too.

2 x stainless steel screws M8x30

2 x Polystop nuts M8

Hopefully this helps

Thanks fore the help..unfortunatly in in the stage where i need a machinest who works for beer. I think i have a working model and all the specs on paper, now I just need to take it to the next level and have it cast or cnc'd. Updates and pics to follow...hopefully.

Hopefully? you sounds as you are giving up.

When you cast these little spacers make a dozen or so cause I sure as shit know I would buys set I can make the simple ass bracket but the filler plate is something all different in nature.

Definitly keep us updated.

Yes please do.

I, myself in the recent past has cut my brief dealings off with my German fabricator that makes a similiar piece.

He would have definitely been a great deal of assistance to you with your build [mad]

Hey guys, new to this forum am currnetly looking at purchasing an xb12s. Have noticed some talk about the rear tail lift kits and am very interested. Ive looked at pm and sent a message but to no avail. Just wondering if there are any other avenues i can explore, only problem is im located in sydney, australia and as far as i know have not seen any lift kits here. Would really appreciate the help.

What is the maximum lift you can attain, ive seen specs on trojan for their subframe spacing and there giving a 90mm lift, is this as good as it gets or wil other brands give a higher lift

I believe the 90mm lift Trojan claims is for the Firebolt tail lift which has the longer tail, thus a larger lift at the tip of the tail with the same size tail bracket.

I wouldn't personally spend the added cash for the pm lift, it may be easier but at the same time it coat nearly $100 more.

Trojan-Horse sells the same kit you showed above but it is a few bucks cheaper.

Either way I would go with the kit you are looking at not the PM, you may want to compare shipping since they are both coming from the UK and you may be able to save $30 or so if you shop around.

Update: I have both sides done now: in wood of course. But now im having to either have them cast or have them machined...I believe that my finished wood part is good enough to reroduce, but I'm uncertain which direction to go..any thoughts? cast or machined? Also, this part gives your tail the 90mm lift, just the saem as the other lift kits out there.
