Does any one have any clue how to remove the points cover? probably a really dumb question but i cant see andy screwdriver or wrench marks in the holes, it looks like a rivet.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

I'm Not sure if thats actually what its called but its the badge on the right side of the motor that says Buell, model name and motor size. I hope that explains my question better.

Thats what I thought but when I went to take mine off I was amazed neither fit. Mine seems to have perfectly round rivets or something.

Yup, have to drill them out. Once you're ready to put it back together your best bet is to tap it with a 10-24 or 10-32 tap and put bolts in there instead of re-riveting it on.

Here is a link for the kit that has the tap, bolts, nuts, and screws. It allows for the rivets on the chin fairing to be replaced with small torques bolts too.

American Sport Bike Rivet Kit

You can see in this pic they have a CF timing cover with the screws holding it on, and the chin fairing bolts sort of.

Tapping them and using torx or allen head screws is one god option; I think HD sells self-tapping screws for the former rivet points if you prefer. Sorry - I don't have a part number.

I'm pretty sure that you go to hell for using self tapping screws on a motorcycle. [smirk]
