I fixed the vapor lock issue a while back and had been riding the blast modestly, mostly in town up until the end of December (the down tube of my exhaust snapped at the welds). Just fixed the exhaust and now I'm having an issue keeping it running. I can get it started and ride it for a bit but if I take off any twist on the throttle the engine will work itself down to death.
The boot probably needs to be replaced (looks a little dry).
But one thing I noticed that I wanted to ask about before I work on was the way it acts if I apply pressure to the stock air box. If pressure is applied to the air box the engine will not begin to slow down and die. This makes me believe it is the boot. Am I wrong in believing so? Is this symptomatic of boot failure?
