Like the title how is the best way to remove it?
Soak the piece in acetone, laquer thinner?

Depends very much what the coating is and where you live... In the US&EU I guess the environmental protection law are too strict to get the good stuff, acetone&thinner will not work. Here we use some chemicals which remove the coating nice&easy but are certainly non environmental friendly... You might refer to this link

have fun

Thanx for the replies. After I posted the question I saw that it made no sense. I tried to edit the message but it would not let me. I'm surprised that anyone could figure out what I was talking about. Next time I try to post I'll slow down.

Powder is pretty dang resilient - paint stripper will work, but you have to put forth some effort as well. Even for paint, I try to scrape with a plastic putty knife to help get it off. You'll likely have to use more than 2 applications to get it all.

But it can be done!

Sandblasting is another option.

best stuff out there is called B-17 expensive but it will save you a ton of time and frustration with the normal "paint" strippers.

i was going to say B17 as well... i love it.

What parts are you trying to strip? Air craft paint stripper will work but takes a while....

If its your wheels, have fun with that... B17 is the only way to go. I dropped my wheels in by B17 and they where completely stripped in 20 mins with zero effort.

A side note on this stuff. Wear protective gear, Gloves apron and mask. Also get a bin to pour it in and lets the parts sit in it. Stuff is nasty and will burn through your skin ( to the bone damn near) if your not careful.

i checked on some b17 stuff at the link above, dee am that stuff is expensive... $68 dollars for five gallons i don't think i would ever use it up. i may call some local places around ft. worth that do powder coating maybe they can take it off too.

Your right on with that fee. It's a $20 minimum fee with ordering bullet propellants and primers.[sad]

I order it in 30 gallon drums but when I first tried it in the 5 gallon it was 126 total. Freakin Hazmat fee almost more than the actual price, but the extra is well worth it in my opinion as it saves so much time and work.
