Hello folks,

I'm a novice when it comes to electrical stuff. I'm trying to wire a power distribution block (PDU) to my 2006 Ulysses. I got the PDU and wiring kit from Twisted Throttle. I only want my accessories plugged into the PDU to have power if the bike is turned on and running. The problem I've encountered is related to wiring the PDU to a hot/switched wire. After I thought was a simply installation, I'm not receiving power to my Gerbings heated gear (which is now tapped into the PDU).

I searched this site and BadWeb and read a few threads. Some suggested that the easiest switched wire to splice into is the 12V accessory plug wire. Because I want to stick the PDU under the seat, I was going to splice into the under-seat rear accessory plug. At that point I realized the previous owner had spliced into the red wire seen below when he installed small LED marker lights (i.e. blue lights are illegal where I am, so I had him simply cut them before I rode the bike home when I purchased it). I have the service manual but wasn't sure what that red wire (upper right corner of first pic) goes to:

The yellow wire is the PDU "switched wire" that I'm supposed to connect to a wire that is only powered when the bike is switched on. I simply inserted it into the connector where the PO had tapped in his blue LEDs (now removed):

But so far, I'm not getting any power to my Gerbings liner (the only accessory plugged into the PDU), so something isn't right. If it turns out I'm not supposed to tap into that red wire, can someone please point out exactly which wire is the rear 12V accessory plug wire in these photos and I'll try tapping into that one:

I appreciate any help!
