im ready to switch my S bars for R clip-ons.

Do you want a complete stock R set up on you S? Stock part numbers and all? Or do you want an aftermarket set?

i also need to know if the tail/stop lens from an R will replace the lens on my S. im cropping my tail and figured since the R lens has the clear section underneath to illuminate the plate i could just switch them.

The tail lamp will work off of an R.

You won't need the R tail lense. Your S lense has that clear spot in the bottom already....you just don't see till you take it off.
