Just got my bike and i paid a flat rate from the dealer to service the bike so that it was ready to ride. Now that I've got it, I was at my buell dealer and the buell tech. there said he was hearing a problem in the primary case such as a loose chain or motor sprocket nut.

I'm not near my manual or other reference right now, does my xb12s have an automatic chain tensioner? I guess not since the guy's a buell tech but seems like it should, I dunno what the cons to one could be?

I may see if my service plan covers this service or I can follow my service manual and check/tighten/replace what's necessary. Either way, while I've got the cover off, I'd like to go flat black with it, textured preferably. What's preferred for this? Powdercoat or paint? Bedliner?

Thanks!

It's a manual primary chain adjuster.

Okay so I should be able to inspect/tighten the chain without removing the whole cover. I do want to check the nut on the driven sprocket, and blackout the cover though so good thing I bought the gasket.
