Exhaust will totally be finished Monday. Then its time to redo the intake, and electrical will be the next pita to complete.

Exhaust is 100% built, packed, and sealed up.

Onto the headlight mount now and wiring it this weekend, or at least get a start at it.

This light mount is no where near finished fyi

Going to work a curved filler piece for the bottom of the light to keep any water shooting off the tire out of the light vents. Then fill in the top to match the shape of the top of the light, that where I will place the new ignition.

Nice headlight. Just bought the same one for my tuber. Doing the xb front end with that headlight and R top tree.
I had a similar ideal for mounting it but was going to run all the way to the bottom tree for a second mounting point.
That plate looks pretty beefy, dont think it will shake at all?

Why not use the motogadget m-lock for an ignition? On second thought, I don't know if it will work through metal.

Its way more expensive than I can justify buying. I know the m unit was pricey but it fits in my tail no problem, so it was worth the cost. My 27 dollar napa ignition will work fine, plus I like having a key on the bike instead of RF.

It's 3/8" thick and uses all 4 of the mounting points on the top clamp, it should work fine.

Ahh... Forgot with the S top tree you have that piece that hangs down for the sideways ignition. I was thinking of the R tree which only has the two under the tree.

Gonna be a little more challenging for me with the R tree.
Looks great Baja, cant wait to see what you come up with for fillers.

Have you thought of just purchasing fork clamps to hang the headlight from? That was my next option besides machining a simple mount myself for free.

Yeah I thought of that as well.

I have a acewell speedo/tach I want to use. Its on of the 2" or so circular ones. Very sleek and minimal. Kinda the look I am going for.
I was thinking of machining a bracket/filler to go between the headlight and top tree. The cut a hole to fit the acewell in.
I will have to see what route I take once I get the front end on. Still need to press out the x1 stem and put it in the xb bottom tree.

But I like seeing the headlight up on the buell. Give me some perspective of how it will look on mine.

They actually sell that same headlight with billet fork clamps instead.

But I found the one you have on ebay from a Italian seller for $245. All the US places I found were selling it for $400+ Couldnt pass up that price. They even next day air'd it from Italy.
Figured I have the resources to make it work and fab my own stuff. I am not quite at the level of your work, but I am working at it!
Though this may be the easiest solution
