i was looking it over and have a pretty good idea on how to do it. just want to do it right. and i refuse to pay 3X the money for the shop to take the wheel off the bike to change out the tire!
remember the pinch bolts, personally i like to raise the bike just enough to get the tire off the ground that way you can just slowly roll the wheel and tweek it alittle to clear the caliper. its easy to scratch the rim.
That thread is guarunteed to come up first no matter what you search.
Lift up the rear of the bike, loosen the pinch bolt, unscrew the axle nut with the tool in your tool bag and a 7/8th socket. Slide the belt off, drop the wheel down a couple inches and pull it straight back. It's pretty easy once you get into it.
I just finished mounting a new set on my Buell XB12R. Have to say the removal/install of the rims were easy. The best design I could ever ask for on a bike. I had the front tire replaced in 30 mins and a good 1.5 hrs on the back. Watch some videos on you tube for the tire removal/install. Even braking the bead with nothing but a 1 ft 4x4 and 8 ft 2x4 using my hitch for leverage. This was my first time installing tires. Time and money were my reason. People around here trying to charge me with $50 each. So with a little know how and a alot of labor, you too can save some money.
