If you pulled new bearings, are they reusable? Or does the process of pulling them do damage to them?

wheel bearings can be reused if new as long as you pulled them and didnt hammer them out.

[up] thanks Anrkizm. I need to buy a good puller. Any suggestions?

The slide hammer I usually borrow from autozone never really works right and I end up tearing the bearings up getting them out. Usually they're going to be replaced so it doesn't matter, but these are brand new so I'd like to salvage them if possible.

harbor freight has a pretty good slide hammer set for cheap.my set is matco and its pretty pricey for home use.

remove the rubber seal from the out side of the bearing,it should pop right off.then use a heat gun or an iron used for cloths heat the bearing up a little and spray with oil let it set heat it up again reinstall the seal and it should come out pretty easy with the slide hammer.
these bearings are considered sealed but can easily be repacked without removing.i repack mine with every tire change with HIGH quality wheel bearing grease.

That's the puller I planned on getting this afternoon. Yep that matco is quite a bit more.

Thanks for the info [up]

No. If you pull the bearing with that slide hammer, basically, you hammer the balls between the inside race and the outside race. There is not a way to get the wheel bearings out of a Buell wheel by only applying pressure to the outside race. Once the bearings are pulled, they should be replaced, and doing such is pretty cheap insurance.
