Well the guy test drove a zx and said it hurt his wrists[sad]. I am thinking about a Ducati monster. I would prefer one that has a single sided swing arm. So the plan is to sell the Ninja and sit on some cash and wait and find something. Jeez it will take forever to save up and add to the sale money of the Ninja. This is a weird situation I am in. For the first time I just don't seem to find anything that I just have to have.

The Monsters with the Single sided swing arm are the S2R, S4, S4R, and S4RS series, and happen to come with nice upgrades like the Super sport (Testastretta) engines and Ohlins suspension[up] You will pay a premium for those, but I highly recommend it!

The Monsters I've had have been really reliable and haven't needed any valve adjust anywhere near the factory recommendation. I suggest learning the procedure to check them and saving $1500 a year in Ducati 'service'

I will learn how to do my own service as I do all my work. I need around 7 to 10k for the ones I am looking at. I went on a ride earlier had a good time but I get nervous because I have to really ride the pipe and even though I may be 10 or 15 over it sounds like a lot more. The Ninja really is a track bike.

796, 1100 evo and the 1200 all have single sided swing arms as well. all are pretty bad ass. Ducs are noisy, but as a former bueller, I know you can live with that. The more you ride it the more you will grow accustomed to the power band and torque differences. you are used to the zx and its gonna be different, but nice different. the 796 might leave u wanting more though.
