I know with the 55watt kits you need to run a relay but do you with the 35watt ones? I have the 35 one from DDM and I had a relay on both high and low before but took them off to get the recall done not wanting HD to ruin them. I just want to put the low side on cause i think it would be easier on the charging system only having to power one.

I tried the search on here but for some reason nothing came up on my phone [confused]

Thanks in advance.

HIDs draw far less current than halogens. In theory you do not need to run a relay. DDmTuning's kits are capped at 6A draw, even at startup- a 55w halogen bulb will draw 3.9A @ 14.4V, 4.6A @ 12V. So startup current is, in theory, not that much more than running current on the halogen bulbs.

That said, our halogen housings are not made for HIDs. I can't wait to remove mine, because while there is much more light, it is just scattered everywhere. There is not any more useable light, only a blinding light for oncoming cars.

Running a relay is easy, and I run mine off of a relay.

Yeah I've had the relays on before but I was just kinda being lazy [smirk]

Andy what are you going to do? Take out the HIDs or replace your headlight housings?
