Quick Throttle vs Throttle Tamer

Does anyone know the difference between a quick throttle tube and a throttle tamer tube? Why would you use one or the other?

From what I've read, the Tamer flattens the profile off of idle to help modulate the throttle at low RPM while a quick tube gets you to WOT faster (less twist of the wrist). I suspect the Tamer may increase the twist to WOT or keep it the same as stock.
