Hi,

Planning to order my XB before the end of this year, and I was just checking the internet for some mod's.

By coincidence I landed on a site with radar detectors. They are getting smaller and smaller. And at last there is a model available for motorcycle use (Adaptiv TPX).

I would really like this model with a Bluetooth connection for use with a helmet headset.

Does anyone use one, or knows how they work on a Buell?

Will the windscreen mounted models work behind the translucent screens?

There are also several models with a remote antenna. Anyone have a suggestion for discrete mounting?

Any info would be nice.

Radar Detectors aren't illegal, just radar jammers. But that is one cool detector, I especially like the intergrated LED light indicator. Id hate to have to listen for some beep on the road, over my buell, over my Ipod.

I really like that radar detector and I plan on buying it. I myself also have a cardo Q2 system, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to the helmet. There IS a company that makes a bluetooth radar detector, but its not motorcycle friendly. The Adaptiv TPX has a LED option that I plan on buying with the detector.

Theoretically, if radar can go through glass, it can go through a visor as well. Plus they have lots of mounting options! :D

Thaloc it always depend where you live because here they are illegal.

Yeah I think the jammers are legal in texas. It might be a waste of money though because highway patrol is switching to lasers

I live in Europe, where they are both illegal. But yeah that's the same with speeding isn't it? ;););)

It is a very nice package indeed, but this specific version is not the most ideal for Europe (Spain).

I also had a closer look at the different helmet sets (Visalert or H.A.R.D.).
And I must say that I prefer a "Shift-Light"-style indicator, instead of the helmet headset with batteries etc.

I keep on looking. Anyone knows somebody with a detector mounted? Pictures?

Thanks.

so the visual system links to the radar detector? am i understanding this right or is it its own small radar detector?

It has a "shift-light" style indicator. Either on the dash, or a remote one in the helmet.

There is also the option to combine a GPS (Quintez Micro) database notifier. Combined with a radar antenna (Bel 966R).
