Never heard of it before, why are you wanting to add 3 degrees?

Guessing he wants to make to front end a lot more stable.............................. One thing I love about my Ss. It has more rake in the front, so it's more stable then a S, Scg or a Firebolt.

Yup. I looked long & hard especially for an Ss because of the extra rake. Prior to finding one, I was considering just getting an S and using a kit like Race referenced above, but I never found a North American distributor...

Because of the extra rake, the front end on a Ss is rock solid 95% of the time. A lot of people will put a steering damper on a S/Scg/Firebolt to tame the twitchy front end.

Yup, it's no joke. The S models have a rake of 21deg, which is ~2-3deg steeper than you'll find on even the most aggressive replica sport bikes. Great for wheelies & stoppies, but not so good for high-speed stability.

I personally find the front-end on the S models just too nervous for my tastes & I wouldn't have become an XB owner if it weren't for the Ss model with its extra rake.
 
Erik obviously built it to be stunted. I think I'll side with the guy that has an engineering degree and a bunch of race experience when it comes to owning my FB.
 
Raked triple trees and bearing cups are quite common in the Harley world, could you adapt something? This is something i have considered as well, Tank slappers are no fun.

Yea, like IA said above, the only adjustable triple tree sets I'm aware of are meant for Harleys; they don't accept inverted forks and they'll likely give you way too much rake.

I have also seen eccentric front axles which allow you to adjust your trail, which is arguably more important than rake when it comes to high-speed stability anyway. Not sure how the front brake works with one of these axles but it might be worth researching too(?).

If your'e speaking of Erik Buell, then yes, I totally agree. This is why it's interesting to note that he went back to a more relaxed rake angle on the 1190rx (~22.5deg I think [confused]).
 
Horses for Courses, just depends on the rider, but IMHO I think these Buells are a bit twitchy, The guy i bought my S1 Tuber from sold it for that very reason, said it scared him, he said he would have kept it if it was another frame/chassis but it was just too twitchy-Squirrelly,

Its 2 completely different animals, but take a EVO Sportster,, update the forks, shocks and rims and thats actually a very nice riding bike, then get on a Buell, Holy batshit,, then tell me how stable the Buell is again, Im not saying the Buell is bad or anything, but its not for everyone, I own XBs and Tubers, a bunch of Sportys, 2 Ducs, a Guzzi, and a bunch of Biritish bikes, also a few jap bikes, The Buell is in its own world, But i would consider a raked kit for my Buells if they were readily available,
 
My 'bolt is rock solid, never experienced a twitch, I think suspension set-up has a lot to do with it.

my scg feels solid as well could be suspension set-up could be some riders get nervous on a very flickable bike ;)
 
I've never had an issue with mine, then again it is absolutely rider preference. I honestly think that the additional rake is due to differences in parts, the engine alone is different, etc. All I know is the XB is considered one of the, if not the, best handling bike...period.

Yup, I was assuming that the OP was already dialed in, but if not, this is definitely the first place to start. Good point!

I should also be clear that when I am talking about my experience with the nervous front end on the XB, I'm talking specifically about situations where it's really being shoved into a corner, and where the pavement has some irregularity in it. In these conditions, the standard XBs with 21deg rake, regardless of how well set-up, just ain't as solid as an Ss, or any of the other sportbikes I've owned. It's not a knock on the XB, just physics. :D
