Just got my bike back from the shop and took it for a long welcome home ride.
Rode for a good 60 miles and decided to open the throttle quick to see how it would respond.
When i opened it up i got a rattling sound....now i am unfamiliar with what pinging sounds like but would this be it??? I have heard that if the temps are really hot you might hear this.... air temp in Vegas right now in the afternoon is hitting 115F.... did notice it wouldn't happen if i opened the throttle slowly.
Any input would be great ... trying to learn this stuff as i go.

My 12s will do this too on a hot day at low RPM (2000- 2300) then goes away as the motor picks up r's

i wonder if running this oil will help. It recommends it but I don't ever hear of anyone running it.

I really dont feel that the issue is your (or my) oil to me it seems more timing related.. too much advance at the low RPM maybe, I dont know, havent quite figured it out yet just kinda been ignoring it lately... but if you have ridden other twins they all kinda do this jus less noticable on the 90 degree.
